The Production of Meaning

April 16, 2008 – 11:19 am

www.adbusters.org
Great series of Adbusters info and anti-consumer adverts.
It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on this great Canadian voice which is unfortunately way too muted in North America an environment which is simply post-capitalist hell for its poor population.
The claim to have attempted for fifteen years to get their adverts shown on various national TV stations in North America and Europe and Australia - with no success. Bloody annoying. However, I did realise recently that they may be able to try a more subtle way - if you have any ideas yourself if you are a filmmaker or a writer - email them.
Check their website (link above) for info on subscription to the magazine and the purchasing of earth-friendly products!

Robert Fisk - Beirut To Bosnia (1/3)

April 16, 2008 – 10:57 am

Another piece of classic journalism from Robert Fisk of the Independent.
It’s from 1993, and still very important historical record.
This is about the hellish decades of war which Muslim nations have been subjected to. Definitely a valuable remedy from the decades of American and British propaganda… well, not so much propaganda, let’s say ’selective information’.
This series was apparently banned from the channel who produced it (Discovery - Explore your World - but only the parts of it we want you to see). Probably was a little too truthful. Shame because instead of getting the exposure it ought to, to the ignorant and the stupid - it is known by a select few, who know generally what’s going on regarding political agenda in this brave new world.
It is scattered around the web having mentions on the BFI website, various blogs and message boards, and is widely shared via bittorent - I’d recommend torrenting and seeding it along with other films on this site.
Alternatively, you can see parts 2 and 3 on Google video.

The War On Democracy

April 16, 2008 – 10:07 am

Despite the alarmist title this film is perhaps one of the most important featured on this site since there is NO conjecture, NO guesswork, this is all REAL anti-propagandised news. An English journalist called John Pilger comes an inspiring and untold story of real people in Venezuela fighting to maintain a real Democracy against the resistance of corrupt rich Americans and Venezuelans.
(Venezuela is recovering from a regime which literally ignored its poor and poverty-stricken people. Venezuela supplies 15% of the USA’s oil.)
Pilger also discusses Cuba, Chile and other Latin nations, and puts forth a history which is closer to the truth, regarding the USA’s perpetual harassment of these potentially independent nations, to conform with US state politics and corporate economic law. The American oppressors supported illegal incarceration, torture and literal Fascism inflicted on liberal members of society.
****ing disgisting, I was horrified:
VERY IMPORTANT - WATCH THIS -
THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF HISTORY WHICH HAS HAPPENED, IS HAPPENING
AND IS NOT BEING TOLD OFFICIALLY TO ENGLISH SPEAKING NATIONS.

Disinfo.Con (1/2)

April 15, 2008 – 9:47 pm

I’ve not watched this in it’s entirety but I became aware of this video from the Douglas Rushkoff (New York author lecturer etc.) appearance I have out of context on a DVD somewhere. I found it not amazing, but compelling. This conference appears to be about utilizing your intelligence in creative ways, and seems to be valuable in that sense so I deem it worth digesting.

ENDGAME (Alex Jones)

April 15, 2008 – 8:23 pm

A very long, but very informative film about the Bilderberg group who, according to Alex Jones and others are a global elite who meet in secrecy once a year to discuss ways in which to make decisions which will affect our lives without our consent. Those on the list (which I believe is available to download nowadays, whether it’s the real one or not who can tell) are powerful politicians, businesspeople, rulers and bankers. I find Alex Jones’ voice a little grating, but there’s no doubt he writes very well, and is an impassioned, energetic and informative journalist. His fears rooted around the Bilderbergs are seemingly conjecture because of course there’s no way to tell what happens in secret. It may be harmless but then… why hide it? The group has been apparently meeting annually for over 30 years, but it has only come to the public knowledge in the last few years. Who knows what’s going on. The apex of the film is to illustrate the intention of the New World Order to create a single state out of the North American continent. (see Jordan Maxwell slideshow linked on this site) it’s a term which is not new - nor is the concept of the United America - it has been long in the making.
The most valuable content in this film for this reviewer was the enormous chapter on Eugenics - this is for example a great introduction to this dark concept, and has a wealth of visual research which ought to also interest those more informed on the subject. All in all - interesting viewing.
This is a valuable review also:
